Failing at Blogging

So. I've been really, really busy w/work & school which means I haven't spent any time blogging. I used to be able to blog from work, but I've been swamped while I'm there, and there is so much drama going on. I have been working weird hours that I'm trying to get used to, and my school schedule still doesn't quite make sense to me, yet. But I'm hanging in there.

I submitted my first assignment for Marketing on Sunday. After that I studied a little & took his quiz. I ended up getting a 80% on the quiz(it was really hard, & I always say a low score on the first one is okay, because you're getting an idea of how the rest will be) & I got a 100% on the discussion board problem. I was sweating turning that in, obvious considering I wrote it on the 20th and submitted it the 24th. Ha. Anyways. I haven't been working on Leadership as much as I should. I went to my first Complementary Healthcare lecture on Monday, can you say BORING?! Ugh. But that's alright, it should be easy. I also went to Microbiology Lab yesterday, and got a bunch of homework due Thursday. Ugh, I just can't keep up! I will kick this semester's ass, though.

Winter Break

This is the last week of my winter break. Well, it will start tomorrow. I am basically going to work through the whole thing and get the last long weeks check.  This semester I'm taking two business classes, macroeconomics, a nutrition class, as well as my microbiology lab. My business classes are online and so is my macroeconomics course. the business classes were only supposed to have one or two books a piece, but he just sent an e-mail out, and I now have two more to purchase. Blah. I'll wait until my FA disbursement comes to order those last two. I'm hoping the semester goes smoothly. My senior slump is kicking my butt right now, and I have to work through that. But other than that, I'm welcoming this semester with open arms.

I've been working on a purse w/my mom. I've been so bored just hanging out around my house. I ordered a bunch of books online to read but none of them have showed up. So I probably won't even be able to touch those until spring break. I will post pictures of my purse when I get it finished though. It's a little over halfway finished. :]

My brother's birthday is on Wednesday and we are going to Supercross on Saturday.  That will be the last hurrah before another painful semester. I'm almost done though, and I just keep telling myself that. That's my only hope. Haha. I'm off to watch the rest of the Cardinals game. I'll post more later, I just knew I needed a little bit of an update.

A few things...

Here's a list of a few things I have to remember right now:

- Find & post my clicker from anatomy on Half.
- Research deposit date for half.com transactions - I've got $291 coming! :]
- Make sure my Chemistry book is shipped out today.
- Clean my room up really good - again.
- Go shopping online/at Target for school supplies. [it's already that time of year, AGAIN!]
- Research textbook prices - get those ordered.

More to come...

Oh, 2010. Please be good to us. :]

2010 is here!

Tyler, dad, and I brought in the New Year in Rocky Point this year. :] It was a great time, regardless of how chilly &/or windy it was. Brother & mom brought the dogs up on Friday and we left on Sunday. There were a few hiccups along the way, the truck decided it didn't want to tow the trailer any faster than 35 for about the last hour of the trip. That was exciting. Parking it was a pain because we got there late after the truck wouldn't just DRIVE! :] Tyler lost his wallet at the gas station but my mom happened to see it sitting in the parking lot as they were leaving behind us...Umm...what else? It was just a good trip & a great way to bring in 2010. I'm going to write up some resolutions. But not yet - I'm still working on them. I have decided that it doesn't matter when you write them - before or after 12AM on New Years - you either accomplish them or you don't. :]

post-semester

finishing a semester has never felt so good. i'm tired still, working a lot more and i'm puppysitting. that reminds me, i haven't taken any pictures. i'll get on that. been really busy w/christmas shopping & work. today ruth picked me up and her and i went all over christmas shopping. i'm really excited because i got most of my stuff. i just have to get something else for tyler & daddy & i'll be finished. i came home and tyler came over. we wrapped a bunch of stuff and then went to dinner for a post-semester dinner with mom and dad at babbo by my house. it was really good. i came home and started cleaning my room - it desperately needed it. i vacuumed and re-did a bunch of stuff - feels good to have a clean room. i got new sheets today! they have owls and trees and they are SO cute. flannel, too, so they will be warm. maybe i can find/post a picture of those. i dropped my computer off at frys last night, so i don't have one right now. i'm actually using brother's while he is out on a date. but yea i got that done & now i don't know what to do? maybe i will start crocheting cute/creepy things. :] or i have a handful of things that i can wrap, as well. i'm tired. tomorrow tyler, dad & i are going to make brother & garrett's guns. & then dad and i are going to frys - get a loaner and some christmas stuff from him. :] what else? this blog is super choppy and random. but i'm tired and my brain is not functioning at full capacity. with a 3 month old puppy at home, sleep is a rarity. he slept on my face last night. and on my neck. and my chest. it was nuts. but i'm going to get some sleep tonight, i'l make sure of it. i have to go - maybe i will do christmas cards. we'll see. have a good night everyone. i won't be so far away. :]

Starbucks Tumbler

So I've wanted one of these Starbucks tumblers that I haven't been able to find ANYWHERE. They are super popular so whenever a Starbucks gets them in they don't last long. Tyler was looking around and found a guy selling them for $28/ea. with free shipping!! I've never found one for under $35. So he ordered two (one for each of us) and now I will have my very own!! :) Early Christmas presents are the bestttt.

Best Article of 2009

The best article that I read this year (and I haven't had time to read many) was called "Attacking a Killer Flu Virus".
That sounds REALLY lame, I'm sure. But it was a reading we had to do for Microbiology. It was out of one of the scientific reference journals we were assigned. It was really interesting because it talked about all the different ways that we can be infected with a Flu virus. It also talked about all of the different ways you can tear down your immune system and how different medications and food attack the good guys who keep you healthy so that you really can't fight anything off after a long time. It was really cool to see all of the different ways we compromise our immune systems without even knowing it! ...Lamest entry ever, I know. :)

New Favorite Seasonal Drink

Thank you, Mr. Caramel Brulee Latte, for keeping me warm & happy.
Even when I think I might just choke myself out to end this senior slump I'm in.

Countdown to Freedom

As of right now, I have:

That much time until this semester is over.
I couldn't possibly be more excited!!
This semester has been physically & emotionally draining and i'm OVER it!!!

The link to my counter is here.

Kreativ Blogger Award

So my very longtime friend, Kaitlin(ahmymarriedlife) has given me my first blog award! I'm excited, and going to see what I can do about sending the honor on to others. :)

The Rules:

Share 7 things that you don't already know about me.
Name 7 other blogs to receive this award.
Leave a comment on each of the blogs I nominated.
Thank the person who gave you the award.

Seven things you don't know about me...

1. I have been with my boyfriend, Tyler, for 4 years. We met before I graduated high school and it's been a fun ride. He's been with me through a lot, and I wouldn't take any of it back. :)

2. I work at ASU in the Nursing Advising Student Services office. I'm basically an administrative assistant with a student worker status. :)

3. I'm a full-time student and have recently changed my major from Dietetics to Food & Nutrition Management.

4. I have 3 dogs. 2 that live with me and 1 that lives with Tyler. Tucker is a black lab & Casie is a mutt.  Jack is my Yorkshire Terrier that Tyler got me for our 2 year anniversary. I have a guinea pig named Lasagna and a Betta Fish named Pish. I'm not sure that I ever want to have kids of my own. I love children, but I'm not sure that I am ever going to be able to handle that big of a commitment. That's so permanent. I'm young though, everyone says that will change.

5. I very often regret not doing better in high school. I just coasted through and did the bare minimum to pass and get out of there. I wish everyday that I had spent more time on my work and more time getting involved. I always think that it would be awesome if I could go back and do it again.

6. I am really not a fan of the cold. (Other than for reasons stated earlier.) I'm from Phoenix, so I'm not used to any kind of cold weather, and I freeze rather easily. I'd never move from here though, I don't think. I can handle the heat pretty well.

7. I played softball from 6th - 8th grade. I wasn't a big fan of the idea of playing on the team in high school(something i regret, always) and I started playing slow pitch in January of last year. It's a great way to end the week.

And the seven people I'm giving this award to:

1. Armina at Armina's Ami-nals

2. "Shorty" at Securityville

3. Jane at Free Amigurumi Patterns

4. Maartje at Tizzalicious

Okay so I don't have 7 people I'd send it to. But. Here are the 4. :)

(This picture is ugly/not cropped well - I screenshot it from their website.)

This one is going to be really random. And it's inappropriate so I can't exactly post what happened. But when I thought of my favorite restaurant experience this & our anniversary dinner came to mind. Basically the entire family and tyler were at Big Daddy's (a typical Saturday lunch since they have half-price burgers) and this really drunk lady and her boyfriend/husband and friends were there. But this lady was so drunk and crude and the stuff she said was so funny. The funniest part is that my mom was disgusted and so offended and the rest of us thought it was the funniest thing we have ever heard in our lives. It was just a great family experience that we will all talk about forever. :)

Best Trip of 2009

I'd say the best trip we took this year would have been one of the camping trips. Tyler and I went with his family one weekend and my family the next. I honestly couldn't pick which one was better, so I will put up pictures of them both. Any family trips are my favorite, though. :)

Markus Family Camping Trip:

:) It was raining and cold.

We pretty much fished the ENTIRE weekend.
I caught about 5 fish, first time i'd ever caught any fish!!

Johnson Family Camping Trip:

This is apparently the only picture I uploaded from this camping trip.
Not my favorite picture, but that's me in my fishing hat. :)

anatomy practical #2.

i've been studying my butt off for this upcoming anatomy practical. we had two this semester total and this is the second one. i'm feeling pretty good about it, i found a bunch of different study tools, but i will never feel 100% confident. it's just the way i am with exams, though. i will always have some kind of doubt. i think i might take my computer with me to study some more during lecture, but i'm not sure. i'm tired of sitting and studying and gah! i'm sore. and tired. and burnt out. but it will be over after tomorrow and then i won't even have to worry about it anymore. it will be such a nice relief not to have to go to lab anymore. although i did enjoy it 150 times more than i could ever enjoy lecture. but you have to do what you have to do. here's hoping i ace this practical and put it behind me with a smile. :)

200th post.

I just wanted to take a second to acknowledge the fact that my last post was my 200th post.

I have posted 200 blog entries since my first post on December 28, 2008.

That's a lot of posts in nearly a year.
On average, that's about 16 posts/month & 3 posts/week.

I'd like to make that number much higher, and that will be a large part of my New Years resolution.
(I never do those).
